Dependence on Volunteers and Supporters

As a charity, we are entirely reliant on the commitment and dedication of our team of volunteers. Their experience and loyalty form the backbone of our organisation, ensuring that our day-to-day activities and long-term mission are carried out effectively. In addition, when you donate, the generosity of our donors and supporters is invaluable, providing the financial resources necessary to sustain our work and preserve this important aspect of Birmingham’s heritage.

The Role of Our Visitors

Visitors play a crucial role in our ongoing success. Their continued patronage generates a regular source of income, which is vital in helping us maintain and celebrate the rich history that our museum represents. Every visit contributes directly to keeping this part of Birmingham’s story alive for future generations.

Financial Independence and Sustainability

As an independent museum with charitable status, we face annual operating costs of approximately £75,000. To meet these financial demands, we depend heavily on admissions, Gift Aid, and donations. These income streams are essential to our survival, allowing us to continue our work, support our volunteers, and safeguard Birmingham’s heritage for the community and beyond.
