Role Title  Collection Care and Conservation Volunteer
  Role Summary  Our Conservation volunteer will help the Museum Manager in managing and preserving our collection. This can range from cataloguing new collections and helping the Museum Manager ensure our collection is correctly looked after.  

In addition, We are undergoing a project where we will be re-cataloguing our collection, in this project you will be handling and sorting through our collection pieces, logging them onto our collection system.  

Duties:  
Monitor the Museums environment alongside the museum manager ensuring the improvement of conditions when needed.
Assist with museum housekeeping within our collection
Monitoring and cleaning our collection on open display, working with the Museum Manager to ensure they conform with our collections policies and guidelines
Handling and cataloguing collection pieces
Providing demonstrations of your work to the public

  Extra Information  All volunteers given the necessary training to be successful at this role, which includes a volunteer handbook and guidance from experienced volunteers.
Flexible around your schedule – we do not require a minimum number of hours volunteering but would ask that you try to volunteer once a month.
You will have the opportunity to shadow experienced volunteers, learning how to interact with and captivate visitors.
