A Pen Museum Victorian Auction

September 12 - 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Step back in time to the heart of the Jewellery Quarter for a brand-new immersive experience!

Following the sell-out success and fantastic reception of our Murder Mystery evenings, we invite you back to the factory floor for a completely different kind of interactive challenge.

The year is 1888. The steel pen trade is booming, competition is fierce, and tonight, a collection of highly coveted Victorian artifacts, secret manufacturing blueprints, and rare heirlooms are going under the hammer.

The Experience

This isn’t your average auction. Upon arrival, you will be handed your (fictional) budget for the evening in authentic Victorian play money. How you spend it—or save it—is entirely up to you.

As you explore our historic workshop and atmospheric rooms, you’ll encounter the colourful characters of the factory trade. From ambitious workers with a secret to sell, to wealthy rival manufacturers looking to corner the market, you will need to keep your wits about you.

  • Bid: Raise your paddle and compete against your fellow visitors in a fast-paced, live auction.
  • Barter: Trade, negotiate, and strike deals with the volunteer actors stationed across the museum to gain inside information.
  • Investigate: Use your money wisely to secure the most valuable items before the final whistle blows.

Whether you want to play it safe as a cautious investor or risk it all as a high-rolling industrialist, your choices will shape how the evening unfolds.
