The Pen Museum is working alongside design students from the Birmingham School of Art to host a calligraphy workshop on Monday 15 May, which will provide the opportunity to try out a number of writing styles and decorative elements. Some of the main themes that will be explored are: Roman rustic alphabet (the most commonly used Roman letters); Gothic (textura quadrata) alphabet (relating to Old English lettering); Copperplate calligraphy (the most commonly used Italic font); A type of graffiti alphabet.…
