Echoes of Pride: Victorian Voices Heard Exhibition

May 24 - May 25

Large Brick Building Dted 1863

To celebrate Birmingham Pride, Pen Museum volunteer Emily Rudge has created a brand new exhibition featuring the pioneers and icons who fought through Victorian societal norms to express their truth and campaign for equality.

In this exhibition you will get a chance to dive into the stories of eight individuals who fought the fight for their identity and the LGBTQ+ community in a era where society set out to silence them.

Pen Museum volunteer Emily Rudge, curated this exhibition after discovering the connections between these Victorian stories and our own modern day experiences. Emily will be on site both Saturday and Sunday to answer any questions and dive into her research.

This exhibition will run over Birmingham Pride weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May and will include a letters with pride activity. Tickets are free with a standard Pen Museum entry ticket.
