Calligraphy Collages – Summer Family Workshop
August 19 - 11:30 am - 1:30 pm£5
Make a steel pen nib using traditional machinery from 1800’s! Explore the museum and learn drawing and calligraphy techniques to create your own collage.
After watching how steel pen nibs were made 150 years ago, follow an interactive tour around the museum looking at key artefacts. Do some short timed drawing activities with fine line pens: continuous line drawing, drawing with your non- dominant hand, drawing with your eyes closed etc.
In workshop room, add words and thoughts to your drawings using your pen nibs and holders and create a calligraphy collage, then round off the session with a Pen Museum Quiz.
The Workshop is aimed at ages 7-12. Cost is per child, accompanying adults are free of charge. Only 10 spaces available!
